Bread maker French bread recipe variations?
I made a delicious french bread in my bread maker, but I want to jazz it up. Will adding garlic powder and grated parmesan cheese ruin the recipe or will I just have to add more of the recipes ingredients (such as bread flour, sugar, water, etc)?
I want the taste of cheese and garlic, but I don’t want to mess up the recipe for the bread.
Do you have any tried and true variations for bread maker breads?
Serious answers only and thanks in advance!

Neither should ruin your recipe unless you add vast quantities of either ingredient. Bread is pretty forgiving and you can fix it by add more flour or liquid, as needed.

make an Italian loaf that way. Use some Italian seasoning and Parmesan maybe even some sun dried tomatoes? Mmm sounds good to me

Yum!
Parmesan is an excellent choice, as mozzarella would melt and run out, leaving hollows in the bread.

I’ve baked this in the bread machine and also used it to make buns & rolls:
Romano Oregano Bread
3 Cups bread flour
1 Cup water
½ Cup freshly grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon dried leaf oregano
1-1/2 Tablespoons olive oil (or butter or cooking oil)
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons active dry yeast (a packet)
Shape and let rise one hour. Bake at 375 Fahrenheit for approx 17 minutes.
Makes one long baguette, 2 short baguettes, one loaf, (in a pan) 8 sandwich buns or 16 dinner rolls.
