Addicted To Junk Food At Night?
This has been a major problem for me, just wondering if anyone else is the same.
I eat health all day, get up have a bowl of bran flakes etc for breakfast, Lunch is usually and sandwich made of wholemeal bread and a piece of fruit, Dinner is again a very healthy dinner with veg etc.
The after the dinner the problems start, I eat chocolate bars, Crisps/Chips, Cakes
I can’t help it, once I’m at home all I want to do is eat, I think the problem is I do not enjoy fruit/veg at all and put up with it all day as I feel I need to eat it,
Its great in the evening just watching tv and eating junk

You need to change your habits. You are used to eating at night and it doesn’t feel right for you to sit down in front of the TV and eat. You may be depriving yourself during the day. Try to eat more often and maybe a few more calories throughout the day.
Trying to break a habit is much harder than starting a new one, so try to exercise at night, maybe use a treadmill or exercise bike while you watch TV. Try to avoid your old routine for awhile and adapt to a new one.

I have an answer for you (at least give it a try). Get some protein shake powder from GMC. Take all of the junk food & throw it out – next time you get hungary at home, have a protein shake. It will fill you up.

I had that same problem once but once this trainer I met at a baby shower told me, that six days a week it should be good eating and excersing and that once a week it’s okay to treat yourself to something nice, but to not let it get to out of control and to have some control.

I do that as well! My morning/lunch/dinner seems to be going along fine, but after dinner… well, that’s when my binging moments begin. You should try to limit your junk food intake (restricting it doesn’t really help, because you’re going to be constantly thinking about it), or do some exercises/read/go out for a walk. In the long run, you need to replace the junk food with healthier alternatives (those 100 calorie snacks are addicting AND healthy!). Some other healthy snacks like low-fat baked cheese puffs, whole wheat pretzels, or yogurt also help in preventing future indulging.

whats your exerise plan like? if your not exercising then you should start. but it sounds like your just getting bored at night time, i had the same problem, during the day i was very active, but at night id just be sitting around doing nothing most of the time so id start to eat whatever i could find. a good way to stop this is try going to the gym at night time, going to the gym for an hour or two, coming home, eating an apple then goin to bed.

I have the same problem. My parents load the house with junk food and I hate it.
First of all it’s not good to eat after about 6 or 7. If ou do, the calories will be just sittig there. The key is will power. Take your mind off of it and do something to occupy yourself. Do some sit ups, or other exercises. Also, the foods you say you crave late at night are addicting because of the salts and other things. If you really need to eat healthier food, because it sounds like you have no problems with that during the day.
Good Luck

I am the SAME way. I’ll diet all day, then after the kids go to bed I am hitting the Easter candy like a maniac. Not keeping junk food in the house is not an option, but I do try to pick healthy”er” options. I’ll keep the mini- chocolate bars instead of the full size ones and baked version of chips. I put a closed sign on the fridge, and force myself to drink water if I am having a craving. If I still crave it after 8 oz of water, I will fix myself a portion. No more taking the whole bag of chips to the couch. because if I do I will eat the whole bag. I won’t get up and make myself a 2nd bowl.
