The most momentous and meaningful ritual in my life is Thanksgiving with my family. The whole day is considered an enjoyment time with my families and there is no arguing that in my eyes. Nothing is more perfect than my whole family joining together for thanksgiving. As you know that it is eventful day celebration, show gratitude to God and mostly just each other’s company.

. My mouth waters as the scent of melting dried turkey and apple pie across the room. The heat in the kitchen is ferocious, my mother is curved over the sink, scouring and scraping large stainless steel cookware which is only used for company. The delectable aroma of my Mom’s famous mussels rises from the pot, which can only mean dinner is right around the corner. Subsequently, I place a yellow tablecloth on the table; the napkins on the napkin holder. The table is set for 10, we’ve having 4 guests. As I started set up the family table in the living room, the smell of Turkey fills the air as it cooks in the oven were wonderful. when put it in the middle of the table, next I got out the plates they too had fall colors, the napkins also had tiny fall leaves on them so they went along with the centerpiece, I got out my candles, the forks and the glasses and put them on the table, after I lit the candles I took a step back and the table looked as if it belonged in a magazine, I was so exhilarating.
I started to smell the aroma of the turkey and I started feeling kind of panic because I knew that it wouldn’t be too much longer and my family would be here soon. Afterward, I could feel the excitement and the anxiousness starting to swell up inside and since everything was going as planned I relaxed. Since the turkey and all sides were on it was now time to address the table, earlier that week, mother had purchased a beautiful centerpiece that the most vibrant fall colors with twigs, berries and all different colored leaves. After the turkey was done it was time to get the rest of the meal ready, cut up onions and celery, my eyes began to water because the onions were strong, the giblets were boiling on a pot that I started and the dressing was ready to be mixed together and put in the oven. When everyone arrived we all stood around the table with the turkey and sides spread out before us in a magnificent feast, and we each began to say something we grateful for when it was my turn I looked around at my family, and the meal and just simply stated that I was grateful for the opportunity to fix this meal for them and I was thankful for the food that the good Lord and given us and I was thankful that my first Thanksgiving dinner was success.
My grandmother comes over to help my mother in the kitchen preparing turkey . When the turkey was ready, my mother takes it out and place it right there in the center of the table. Including green beans, mashed potatoes, a great gravy recipe, cranberries, your favorite stuffing recipe, sweet potato recipes, corn bread and, of course, pumpkin pie. We all gather around and we recite a prayer to give thanks to all we have. Turkey tastes more like chicken compared to other meats. It has a blander flavor. A turkey leg tastes similar to a chickens’. The celebration itself is something to look forward to every year and it is something I hope to carry on with my own family one day.

Romanians only please?
May 5th
I am looking to reproduce some recipes that my family misses from the states but I am unsure if I can find all the ingredents here. Please tell me where I can find them, I am in Brasov.
Pumpkin spices for breads and pies
evaporated milk in a can
salad dressing ( similer to mayo, not the salad dressing for salads)
I really don’t want to go to those places and attempt to locate these items if they are not even sold here, I struggle enough shopping at these places due to the language barrier. I do not want to add to by looking for items not sold in Romania.
Christmas Gift Ideas?
May 5th
Scrapped on cash this year and want to make homemade gifts. Some of the things I was thinking of doing was making various breads like pumpkin and zuccini. I also have a ton of photos left from my wedding which I never gave out. The thing is I got married two years ago and was needing a creative idea on how to present this as a gift.
I would love to give gift cards, but spending a few dollars on ingredients for baked goods goes a long way. Again scrapped on cash, cant give gift card or spend a lot of money on people this year.
